This is an online store of a book "Close Your Ears" by Sanae Sugimoto for international customers. The online shop is run by Ehonya Rusuban Bansuru Kaisha which is the publisher in JAPAN of this book. < ABOUT THIS BOOK > This book is a collection of Sanae Sugimoto's works, mostly drawn in 2016-2017. 27 illustrations with Japanese/English titles. This book is designed beautifully by Hideyuki Saito. A hand bookbinding company, Misuzudo delicately bounded each book. Some pieces of paper looks uncut were ripped one by one by their hands. The illustrations were Risograph-printed in Nakano Letterpress Studio. This book project has been started when we went to Sanae's exhibition "Close Your Ears" which were held in Shihen, Onomichi in winter 2016. We were overwhelmed by the pieces, the space, and everything. They were utterly beautiful. Then we heard that they wanted to make a book of the exhibition. After a while, we asked them to join the project. Now we are pleased to announce it's published, It's been 2 years since we have started this project. We appreciate that so many people were involved and dedicated themselves to this book. < ABOUT THE ARTIST >　 Sanae Sugimoto Born in Tottori, Japan in 1975 and growing upsurrounded by sea and mountains. After studied an oil painting from art college in Kyoto, came back my hometown and had created my work. Recently interest has turned to using Japanese traditional black and orange inks.
